Question W/R Skill Points? Is it possible to max axe/sword/hammer/bow/strength out?

I was just wondering....

As I go through the game, I am only at a level 11 right now, but I am starting to collect some nice MAX damage weapons. Axes, Swords, Hammers, and Bows. I know that you can carry weapon sets and I was wondering if it was possible to carry all all 4 and still have enough strength, tactics, and other attributes to make you effective. I am kind of at a crossroads here. I generally use the sword, but as the game progresses other weapons could be beneficial to use at certain points...(ie w/Stone Gauntlets - Hammer Knockdown & Cyclone Axe w/ Poison & Ignite Arrows with Box). What are the max attribute points you will receive by level 20? And should I even bother holding on to these items or hawk them in Ascalon?

the max is 200 attribute points.

you can still keep all of the weapons you have acquired. however, when you go off into a mission or go questing, you have to pick one weapon to focus your build around. it's not wise to bring skills for two different weapons. you can always switch builds around in towns and outposts. but always invest points into one weapon mastery and drop the rest.

for example, you can use a sword for one mission. then, when you get to the next mission, you might decide that you want to try to use an axe. you can easily switch your attributes around and then use an axe build.

If you plan in switching weapons I would recomend three sets of guantlets with a rune for each weapon. That way you can switch guantlets (and runes) whenever you switch weapons.

Thanks for the advice...I used tha calculator and found that it is impossible to be effective if you evenly distribute the points...they need to be focused. Thanks!

Good advace regarding using a single weapon at a time has already been offered. I have a ra/wa and have alternated between sword, axe and bow and keep 1-2 of each in inventory.

As a warrior/ranger I wouldn't recommend using a bow though as you won't have any runes to increase marksmanship and, most importantly, won't have any expertise to reduce energy cost for bow attacks, which are all energy based, no adrenaline. I'd just keep a long bow with no requirements for when you need to pull something. You can get one in the 10-13 range if you hunt around Piken Square.

I use my helmet to drive my weapon (rune and wpn type in one)

IMO I've gotten the most use out of axe.. I tried to go sword when I nabbed 100swords.. eh. Eviscerate is tough to pass by..

Havent done much hammer but could see w/e goin crazy with it and certainly you have the knockdowns

I happen to be a fan of disrupting chop though when I need to mess with casters (of course fast castings will likely still avoid me)

That will work but the guantlet changing allows for stone fist guantlets with hammer rune.

Maybe I will have 2 helmets, and 2 gauntlets. One for Hammer Use, and one for sword/axe...whichever I decide to go with for that particular quest. What armor builds and attribute allocation would you suggest for the hammer? And for the sword? Head to Toe and points distribution..?
